Several years ago on my birthday, my family & I went to Joe's Crab Shack for dinner. I didn't want ANYONE at Joe's to know it was my birthday, because I had eaten there before, & I know how they love to embarrass people in front of the whole dining room. Of course, someone mentioned that it was my birthday. Well, they make you come up in front of everyone, put a princess crown on your head, give you a fairy princess wand to wave about & basically make you look silly. I was mortified. So, when the Joe's employee pointed at our table, & said (into a loud microphone, so everyone could hear), "Someone here has a birthday!", my Dad, being the wonderful man that he was, said, "Oh, it's ME!" He happily went to the front of the room & let them put a crown on his head as he waved about his fairy princess wand while everyone laughed and cheered. I've since learned that life is far too short, and if someone gives you a princess crown to wear, and a wand to wave you should absolutely do it-- RIP Dad, I love you, I miss you.
